Wrestling and Take Down Classes

One of the oldest and one of the most effective fighting systems in the world – Wrestling is both an Olympic Sport and essential skill for Mixed Martial Art fighters.

Our fully matted gym now offers Wrestling and Submission grappling classes to help you hone your grappling skills three days a week.

For grappling enthusiasts we also have Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes Monday to Friday and Sunday which means you can learn wrestling and grappling six days a week at our gym in Crawley.

Our Instructors

Our grappling classes are taught and overseen by Black Belt Keith McKenzie who’s been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 10 years, assisted by Marcus H a Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Rolanus Cizauskaus with a strong background is in Judo, Wrestling, Sombo and MMA.

When are the Classes?

Our Wrestling classes take place every Thursday evening at 6:15pm; and our Submission Wrestling (no-gi) classes take place Monday and Wednesday at 7:30pm; and Friday at 6:15pm.

About the Gym

Established in 1996 the Crawley Martial Arts Academy is home to our Thaiboxing, Boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team.

The gym is run by head-coach John Jarvis and we’ve a 30 year history of teaching professional Muay Thai and over 15 years teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling.

Our gym is fully matted and equipped with two training rooms and a weights gym.

We have a boxing gym with two boxing rings, pads and bags and a grappling room — fully matted for safe training

The gym is open 7 days a week for fitness and martial arts training for adults and children of all levels.  We have classes for all levels of experience and ability.
