The Simple Secret to Weight Loss Success

By | Personal Training Crawley | No Comments

One of our great clients has lost several stone — I’ll keep the exact number a secret for her own privacy and because we’re not quite halfway there yet — and is constantly pestered and asked…

“What are you doing to lose the weight?!”

She tells them and they just don’t believe her.

They don’t believe it’s as simple as she tells them.

They think it’s some voodoo, that’s she’s taking some magic pills and there’s something else going on she won’t tell them.

So she tells them again.

And they don’t believe her.

Here’s what she’s doing, this is the simple secret to her weight loss success (remember we’re talking losing several stone, not just a few pounds)!

She’s eating right and she’s training right.

Everyday (with a little discretion at the weekend) she follows a meal plan we give her.  It tells here how many meals to eat and what to eat at each meal.

It’s quite a bit of food and we want to increase it increase the number of calories she’s eating per day (more on that in a minute).

And she’s training.  She’s burning calories at our gym three times a week working one-on-one with our personal trainers.

And boy does she work hard.  Consistently (that’s a big part of the equation) three  times per week while walking fast on her days off.  That all adds up to a lot of calories.

But the exercise wouldn’t work (and here weight loss wouldn’t have been so impressive) if it wasn’t for her discipline and ability to stick to her diet.

She eats the right amount of carbohydrates (they’re not all bad you know).

She eats the right amount of protein.

And she eats the right amount (and right mix) of fats.

There you have it.

That’s what she tells them folk who ask her, her secret.  She eats and she trains.

She does it CONSISTENTLY and gets consistent weight loss.

Hard work.  Discipline and determination.

With a little support and encouragement from us (and the chance to laugh at us too).

The right food.  The right exercise.  And the right mindset (she wants it, bad).

If you need help with your training.  If you need help with your eating.

Best of Bodyweight Fitness Training

By | Exercise and Fitness, Ladies Fitness | No Comments

You don’t always have to join a gym to get a good workout (although it definitely helps on the motivation front) because you can do a lot with just the weight of your body.

Lifting, pushing and pulling your own bodyweight fitness training is an excellent way to start building your strength and coupled with methods (a Tabata for example) it’s a very good way to get your heart rate up, build up a sweat and burn a lot of calories.

Plus you can do it where ever and whenever you want.  Bodyweight fitness training is the perfect holiday workout or quick fix if you can’t make it to the gym today.

Here’s a short and very inspirational clip of some the amazing exercises you can incorporate into a bodyweight fitness workout.  While some of the exercises shown are high level and require good fitness and strength another benefit to bodyweight training is there are usually different variations you can use.

For example you could do a press-up on your knees, progress to doing it on your toes or increase the difficulty by putting your feet on a chair.  You could even go one step further by doing your press ups on an unstable surface (like a fit ball).

One exercise, several variations that let you train at your level and also allow you to progress, get stronger and get fitter.

Teenage and Kids Martial Arts Classes in Crawley

By | Kids Martial Arts, Martial Arts Clubs in Crawley | No Comments

Since 1996 we’ve been teaching martial arts to teens and kids in Crawley.

And since moving to our 5,000sq foot gym in Manor Royal just over 2 years ago we’ve continued to expand our timetable with classes for children aged 4-7 years, 8 – 12 years and teenagers before they move into the adult classes.

We’ve a proven track record in taking children from as young as 4 all the way through to the adult classes.

Winning Championship Titles and competing all over the world.

Of course not all of the kids and teens (or their parents) are focused on competing.

For many it’s about building self-discipline, improving confidence, beating bullying at school and adding a positive influence into the lives of our kids.

This short video clip shows a class with our teens being put through their paces.

Training hard and working through a circuit designed to build their physical strength and fitness.

Which ‘in-turn’ helps us all learn that by pushing and persevering.  Digging deep and building character is exactly what we need to grow as adults.

If you’d like to find out more about our teenage martial arts classes or any of our younger, kids martial arts classes then get in touch by calling us on  01293 552 511 or simply enter your name, telephone number and email address in the box to the side of this page.

All of our classes are taught by fully-qualified, CRB checked instructors who’ve had years practical martial arts experience and won National, European or World titles in our martial art and sport.

You can rest assured you’re son or daughter is getting the best martial arts training locally from some of the UK’s leading martial artists.

Our classes run 4-6 days per week (… depending on the age group) and with the exception of Christmas we’re open all year around.

If you’re looking for a martial art that will build your child physically, teaching them the importance of having a great attitude and hard work then get in touch to find out more.

We’d be more than happy to help and — by the way — that’s me walking around in the hooded jumper making sure the teens are working hard and — just as important — working safely.

I look forward to seeing you (and your kids) in class!
